π§ How Your Score Was Decided (Read This!)
The computer did NOT mark words as βrightβ or βwrong.β It did something different:
π What the computer actually does
- It ranks all words in each story
- It keeps only the strongest few clues
- Strong clues are words that:
- appear often in one story
- but not across all stories
These top-ranked words are shown as Correct.
β οΈ What βExtraβ means
Extra does NOT mean bad or stupid.
It means:
- The word makes sense to a human
- But it did not rank high enough compared to other words
Example: basil makes sense, but words like chef or recipe
were stronger signals. Think of it like a leaderboard β not everyone can be in the top.
β What βMissedβ means
Missed does NOT mean you were wrong.
It means:
- The computer ranked that word high
- But it didnβt get picked
This often happens with very specific words, words that repeat, or words that uniquely identify the
story.
π§ The BIG idea to remember
The computer is trying to IDENTIFY the story, not explain it like a human.
Humans think in topics

signals
π― Strategy tip for next round
- Pick fewer, stronger words
- Avoid broad words that could fit many stories
- Ask yourself: βIf I only saw this word, could I guess which story it came from?β
